About PollCheck

PollCheck is an informational website that displays publicly available UK polling data and election seat predictions. We operate from the United Kingdom and follow the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Data We Display

All polling data and election predictions shown on this website are based on publicly available information from reputable polling organizations including:

• YouGov
• Opinium
• More in Common
• JL Partners
• Other major UK pollsters

Analytics & Tracking

We use analytics to understand how visitors use PollCheck and to improve the experience. These analytics are optional and only activate when you give consent via the cookie banner.

• Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) — provides aggregated usage statistics such as page views, device type and approximate location. Google places cookies in your browser when consent is granted.
• PollCheck first-party analytics — a lightweight tracker hosted by us (Netlify Function + Airtable) to understand page performance, click interactions and returning visits. We store pseudonymous identifiers (visitor ID, session ID) in local storage only after you consent.

None of the analytics data allows us to identify you personally. We do not combine analytics data with any other datasets.

Cookies & Local Storage

We categorise cookies as follows:

• Essential — needed for basic navigation (for example remembering interface preferences). These run automatically and do not require consent.
• Analytics (requires consent) — used by Google Analytics and our first-party tracker to measure engagement, returning visitors and feature usage. When consent is withdrawn, analytics cookies are disabled and no further events are recorded.

We store the consent choice itself in local storage so that the banner does not reappear on every visit.
